Connection guide

Connect your Etsy shop

Nothing to type: you approve Sourship on Etsy, and your orders come in while stock levels and tracking go back. Your listings stay exactly as you made them.

Before you start

What you need

  • A Sourship account

Your application accepted and your plan active.

  • Your Etsy login

You approve Sourship on Etsy's own page, signed in as the shop's owner.

  • Your listings, as they are

Sourship does not create Etsy listings: you link the ones you already have to your products.

  • Items Etsy allows

Etsy allows items you designed yourself, and craft or party supplies. It does not allow reselling products you did not make or design, so connect only a shop that follows its rules.

  • Name your production partner

If your design is made for you by a production partner, name that partner in your shop and on the item, as the seller rules ask.

Step by step

Connected in four steps

  1. Open Connected Stores

In Sales Channels, then Connected Stores, press Connect on the Etsy card.

  2. Approve on Etsy

You are sent to Etsy. Sign in and approve Sourship; Etsy tells us which shop is yours.

  3. Shop connected

Back in Sourship, the shop appears in Connected Stores.

  4. Link your listings

Link each listing you already have to a product you hold with us, once. Its orders then ship by themselves.

What Sourship can do

The access you approve, in plain words

Etsy shows these permissions before you approve. Here is what each one is for.

  • Your orders

Read each new order and its delivery address, then add the tracking number when it ships.

  • Stock on your listings

Update the quantity on the listings you linked, so nothing sells twice. We do not create or edit anything else on them.

  • Your shop's details

Its name and currency, so orders and prices read correctly.

  • Not your buyers' emails

We do not ask Etsy for your buyers' email addresses. Only what shipping needs.

After you connect

Get this store ready

Your new store shows a short checklist in Connected Stores, and ticks each step off as it is done.

  1. Store connected

You approved Sourship on the platform, and the store appears in your list.

  2. Store check passed

Press Test. Anything to fix is named, with a Fix it button and a short guide to the solution.

  3. Store settings finished

    Etsy and eBay only

A few answers the marketplace asks for, such as your shipping and return policies.

  4. Products linked

Link each listing on your store to a product in your inventory, once.

  5. Stock allocated

Choose how many units of each product this store may sell.

  6. First order received

The first order arrives by itself, and ships from our warehouse.

A WooCommerce or Shopify store is ready to use as soon as it is connected.

Good to know

How an Etsy shop behaves

  • Orders checked regularly

Etsy cannot send us orders as they happen, so we check your shop regularly, and every time you open your orders.

  • Your listings stay yours

Sourship never creates Etsy listings. Orders, stock levels and tracking are all we handle.

  • Etsy's erasure requests

An erasure request from Etsy is applied within 30 days.

  • Orders to US buyers

Etsy's seller rules ask that orders shipped from abroad to US buyers arrive with import duties already paid. Sourship ships with duties and taxes paid by default, so your US buyers pay nothing on delivery. Keep that default for these orders rather than asking for duties unpaid.

Your settings

You decide how the store runs

Each connected store has its own settings, and you can change them at any time.

  • Import orders

Turn on to bring every new order in by itself.

  • Send stock levels

Your store's quantities follow your stock, so nothing sells twice.

  • Pay orders automatically

New orders are paid from your wallet and ship without you touching them.

  • When something sells out

Show it as sold out, hide the listing, or keep selling on backorder.

  • How often we check

From every 5 minutes to once a day, for the stores we check rather than hear from.

Your buyers' data

Your buyers stay yours.

When you connect a store, your buyers' names and addresses pass through Sourship so we can ship their parcels. Here is everything we promise about them, in writing.

  • Used to ship, and for nothing else

We use your buyers' details only to fulfil your own orders. We never sell or share them, and never pass them to advertising platforms.

  • We never contact your buyers

No emails, no messages, no marketing. Only you and the carrier are in touch with them.

  • Disconnect, and it is erased

Disconnecting a store erases its buyers' names, contact details and addresses at once. You can also erase them yourself, at any time.

  • Kept short, reported fast

Raw order messages are erased within 90 days. If buyer data is ever exposed, we tell you and the marketplace within 24 hours.

Disconnecting

Disconnect at any time

One click in Connected Stores. Here is exactly what happens, as the app itself tells you before you confirm.

  • What stops

Syncing stops, and the access the platform gave us is deleted.

  • What is erased

Your buyers' names, contact details and delivery addresses, at once.

  • What is kept

Order amounts, items and tracking numbers, which we must keep as a record, and your product links and allocations, so reconnecting restores them.

Stuck on a step? Ask your agent.

Every seller has a member of our team assigned to them. You see their name in your account and can message them on WhatsApp. The Problems and fixes guide in the app covers every platform too.
