FAQ

Questions, answered.

How sourcing, your stock, your stores, shipping and payments work at Sourship, in plain words. Pick a topic, or read from the top.

Getting started

How do I get started?

Apply for an account, choose your plan and tell us what you sell. Your card is authorised but not charged while we review your application, usually within two business days, and it is charged once you are approved. Once you are in, top up your wallet and send your first sourcing request as soon as the top-up is approved.

What does Sourship actually do for me?

We buy the product from the supplier, check it against your request, weigh it, and keep it in our warehouse. When an order comes in, we pack it and ship it to your customer, then put the tracking number on the order and send it back to your store. You choose what to sell and set your prices; the rest of the chain is ours.

Do I need an online store to use Sourship?

No. You can create orders yourself for customers you already have, with their address saved for next time. If you do have a store on WooCommerce, Shopify, Etsy or eBay, connecting it means orders arrive on their own, stock stays in step, and tracking goes back without you touching it.

Do I have to use every part of Sourship?

No. Many sellers start with sourcing and shipping and connect a store later. You can create an order by hand for any customer, so a connected store is never a requirement.

Is there a mobile app?

Not a separate one. Sourship runs in the browser and works on a phone, so you can check your orders, your stock and your wallet from anywhere.

Plans and pricing

What is included in the monthly plan?

The whole service: sourcing from 1688 and Taobao, checking and weighing every delivery, storage in our warehouse, packing, and shipping to your customer with tracking. Your plan also sets how many orders, sourcing requests, product searches and AI image edits you get each month. What the plan does not cover is the price of the goods and the cost of each parcel, which you pay from your wallet.

What happens when I reach my monthly order limit?

One order is one shipment to one recipient. When you reach your monthly limit, you can move up to the next plan or buy additional orders from your dashboard, and carry on straight away. Unused orders do not carry over to the next month. Sourcing requests, product searches and image edits can also be topped up inside the app at any time without changing plan.

Can I get more sourcing requests without changing plan?

Yes. Extra sourcing requests, product searches and image edits are available inside the app whenever you need them, paid from your wallet. Your plan stays as it is, and extra sourcing credits you buy do not expire.

Does my plan renew automatically?

No. Nothing is taken from you on a schedule. When your month is up, you renew the plan yourself from your wallet, which means you are never billed for a month you did not intend to use.

Is there a free trial?

There is no free trial. You choose a plan when you apply: your card is authorised but not charged while we review your application, usually within two business days, and it is charged only if you are approved. If you change your mind, you can ask for a full refund within 7 days of approval, as long as you have not used a sourcing credit or bought any inventory. If you want to understand the service before applying, send us a message and we will walk you through it.

How much does shipping cost?

It depends on where the parcel is going and what it weighs. Sourship ships to most countries worldwide, with 77 destinations in the app’s rate table, and the price is Sourship’s shipping rate for the real weight of your product. Delivery usually takes 7 to 12 days from dispatch, up to 20 on the slowest lanes. You can check any destination in the shipping calculator inside the app before you quote a customer.

How do I pay, and are there any fees?

Your first plan payment is made by card when you apply: the card is authorised but not charged, and it is charged when our team approves your account. After that, everything is paid from one USD wallet inside Sourship: your plan renewals, your sourcing requests and your shipping. You top the wallet up by transfer to our Mercury, Wise or Payoneer account, or in USDT, and upload the receipt, and our team credits the balance once the funds are received. Your own bank’s fees for the transfer are yours; Sourship adds nothing on top of them, and there is no per-order fee and no storage fee while your plan is active.

Sourcing

Which suppliers can I buy from?

The search inside the app covers 1688. For any other supplier, on Taobao, Tmall, AliExpress, JD or a factory’s own site, send us the link with a photo from New Request: our team checks the supplier and prices the request within 48 hours, the same way as for 1688.

Is there a minimum order?

Only the supplier’s. The quantity starts at the supplier’s minimum and moves in their pack size. Many 1688 products start at a single unit, so you can test a product before you buy more of it.

What exactly do I pay for a sourced product?

The supplier’s price plus a small conversion adjustment, and the supplier’s delivery to our warehouse. On a 1688 product, both are shown before you send the request. No agent commission is added. Shipping to your customer is paid later, with each order.

Can I cancel a sourcing request?

Yes, within 24 hours of creating it, once, with a reason. Our team reviews the request, and if it is approved, what you paid goes back to your wallet.

What happens when the goods arrive?

We check them against your request and weigh them, and they appear in your Products List, ready for your orders and your stores.

Listings and eBay

Which stores can the listing builder publish to?

WooCommerce, Shopify and eBay. On Etsy, Sourship brings your orders in and sends stock levels and tracking back, but never creates listings: yours stay exactly as you made them.

Do my listings go live straight away?

On WooCommerce and Shopify, no: the listing arrives as a draft, and you decide when it goes on sale. An eBay listing goes on sale once units are allocated to it, so it never sells stock that is not there.

Can I build a listing for a product I do not own yet?

Yes. Choose to have us source it, at one sourcing credit per variation, and its stock is linked to the listing when the goods arrive at our warehouse.

What happens if an AI photo edit fails?

The image edit credit it used comes back to you automatically. The free adjustments, from rotating and cropping to brightness and warmth, never use a credit.

Can I stop halfway and finish a listing later?

Yes. Your work saves as you go. Pick up any half-finished listing from Listing Drafts, whenever you are ready.

Can I run an auction for an item with variations?

No. eBay only allows auctions for single items, so a listing with colours or sizes uses fixed price.

When does an eBay listing go on sale?

Once you publish it and units are allocated to it. You never sell stock that is not there yet.

Does listing my own stock use a sourcing credit?

No. Only a product you ask us to source uses sourcing credits. Listing stock you already hold with us costs none.

What happens when a Best Offer is accepted?

It arrives in Sourship as an ordinary order, and we pack and ship it like any other.

Can I use the Design Studio for my other stores?

Not at the moment. The Design Studio is for eBay listings; WooCommerce and Shopify listings use their own description format.

Which of my eBay settings does Sourship use?

Your eBay shipping, payment and return policies, your item condition and your ship-from location, so they need to be set up on your eBay account first.

Your stores

Which stores can I connect?

WooCommerce, Shopify, Etsy and eBay, on every plan. One account can connect several stores, and they can sell the same stock without ever selling a unit twice.

How quickly do store orders reach Sourship?

Shopify, WooCommerce and eBay send each new order to us straight away. Etsy cannot, so we check your Etsy shop regularly, and every time you open your orders list.

What if my store gets more orders than my plan allows?

Nothing is lost. Store orders that arrive after your monthly orders run out are held in a window on your Orders page. Upgrade your plan or buy additional orders from your dashboard, then process them there, oldest first, one order credit each.

What if an order arrives for a product you do not recognise?

It waits on Needs Matching, and nothing is charged while it does. Tell us which product it is once, and every later order for that listing matches by itself.

Do you publish listings straight to my store?

On WooCommerce and Shopify, no: listings you build in Sourship arrive as drafts, so you decide when they go on sale. An eBay listing goes on sale once units are allocated to it. On Etsy we never create listings: we bring your orders in and send stock levels and tracking back.

What happens when I disconnect a store?

Syncing stops, our access is removed, and that store’s buyer names, contact details and addresses are erased. Your products and their links are kept, ready for when you reconnect.

Warehouse and stock

Where is your warehouse?

In China. Your goods are received, checked, weighed, stored and shipped from there.

Is there a storage fee?

No. Storage is free, with no time limit, while your plan is active, and there is no warehouse subscription. If your plan ends, we hold your stock for three months and remind you to renew or arrange its removal; after that, it is treated as abandoned.

What do Stock, Reserved and Available mean?

Stock is everything we hold for you. Reserved is what paid orders have already claimed. Available is stock minus reserved: what you can still sell. Below ten available, a product is marked Low stock.

How do I restock a product?

Press Request More on the product in your Products List. A restock does not use a sourcing credit, because the product is already in your inventory. It is priced and paid from your wallet like any request, and its units join the same product when they arrive.

What if a delivery does not match my request?

We check every delivery on arrival against the 1688 or Taobao listing, before it becomes your stock. If an item is wrong or defective, we notify you with photos and you choose a replacement or a refund to your wallet. You pay nothing for supplier errors. Our check covers condition and match to the listing; it does not verify whether a product is genuine.

Can I remove a product from my inventory?

Yes. Ask us to delete it from your Products List, and our team reviews the request.

Orders and shipping

Where do you ship?

To most countries worldwide, and we confirm the destination of each order before it ships. The app’s rate table lists 77 destinations, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, most of the EU, the Gulf, and North and West Africa. The shipping calculator in the app shows every one.

How long does delivery take?

Counted from dispatch, usually 7 to 10 days to Europe and 10 to 12 days to the United States, sometimes up to 20. For other destinations, we confirm the time when you place the order. Products already in stock usually leave within 24 to 48 hours, although Chinese public holidays can delay dispatch. These are estimates, not guarantees.

Can I create many orders at once?

Yes. Import them from a spreadsheet on the New Order page instead of typing each one.

Can I change the delivery address for one order?

Yes. The address is filled in from the client, and you can change it for that order before you pay.

Can I cancel an order?

An order you have not paid yet is cancelled straight away, and its stock goes back to your inventory. For a paid order, give a reason and our team reviews it; approved cancellations are refunded to your wallet.

Do you handle returns?

Yes, but the only return address is our facility in China, and the sender pays the return shipping: Sourship does not. Parcels into China are often delayed by Chinese customs, so tell us before a return is sent, with its tracking number. Items that reach us in resaleable condition go back into your inventory. Set your store’s return policy with this in mind. If we shipped the wrong item, you get a refund or a reship at our cost. The returns policy has the details.

Who pays the import duties and taxes?

Shipping is priced by destination country and by the real weight of the parcel, and you can check any lane in the app before you quote a customer. By default, parcels ship with import duties and taxes paid, including through the carriers’ import VAT schemes for eligible EU and UK parcels, so your customer pays nothing on delivery. On request, we can ship duties unpaid instead: the recipient then pays those charges, and a parcel they refuse is at your cost.

Wallet and payments

How long does a top-up take?

Our team checks your transfer against the receipt and credits your balance the same working day, with a notification when it is done.

Can I top up by card?

No. Top-ups are by transfer to our Mercury, Wise or Payoneer account, or in USDT. A card is only used for your first plan payment, when you apply, and it is only charged once your account is approved.

Why would a top-up be rejected?

When we cannot match the transfer to the receipt. The receipt must show the amount and the reference clearly. The reason is written on the rejected top-up; fix it and send a new one.

Where do refunds go?

Back to your wallet, as a deposit linked to the request or order that was cancelled.

What happens if my wallet runs low?

Nothing is charged beyond your balance. A request or order your wallet cannot cover waits as Ready to pay until you top up and pay it.

How does the USD Wallet work?

You top it up by transfer to our Mercury, Wise or Payoneer account, or in USDT, and upload the receipt; our team checks it and credits your balance the same working day. The wallet then pays for your sourcing requests, your shipping, your plan renewals and any extra credits, and every movement is listed with what it paid for. No agent commission is added, and there is no inactivity fee. Your unused balance stays yours: ask at any time and we return it to the account it came from within 30 days, deducting only the transfer fee our bank charges.

Help and your account

How do I reach your team?

Through your own agent: every seller is assigned a member of our team, whose name you see in your account and whom you can message on WhatsApp. You can also write to us on WhatsApp or by email; the number and the address are on this page and at the foot of every page.

Is there a guide to the app?

Yes. Help and Guide, inside the app, explains every page on a real screenshot, with who does what at each step and quick answers to the questions sellers ask most.

How will I know when something happens on my account?

You get a notification every time our team prices, ships, approves or refuses something, with a link straight to it. History lists everything you and our team did on your account.

Can I change my email or WhatsApp number?

Yes, through our support team. Your name, email and WhatsApp can only be changed by them, so nobody who gets into your account can change where we contact you.

What if my store stops syncing?

Open Connected Stores and press Test. It repairs what it can on its own, and if a problem remains, the store says what it is with a Fix it button. If that does not solve it, message us.

Still have a question?

Write to us, and a member of our team will read it and reply.
